N2 - Two or possibly three isozymes of the enzyme, xanthine dehydrogenase, have been detected in wildtype Drosophila melanogaster by starchgel electrophoresis. Two genes, rosy and maroon-like, may control these isozymes by producing two different polypeptides that assemble in groups of three or four.
