Abstract

The existing tibial delta external fixation frames consist of side bars and cross bars. In this work it is shown that the cross bars do not add appreciable strength to the frames. Therefore the removal of the cross bars of delta frame results in a new frame (V-frame) which is practically as strong as the conventional delta frame, but it is up to 35% lighter in weight.
