Abstract
In this study, real-time imaging of the dynamics of individual DNA molecules under a well-defined shear flow was made. After systematic observations of individual DNA molecules, under the DNA conformations were statistically categorized into seven distinct classes: vertical wire; vertical rod; vertical crescent; angled crab; horizontal wire; horizontal rod; and horizontal crescent. Such conformations are not found in no-shear conditions.
