Aplicabilidad del SF-36 en el campo de la clínica forense

Objectives: To study the usefulness of SF-36 in the forensic clinic as an objective complementary test for the assessment of body injuries. Patients and method: A prospective study was carried out on a sample of 113 patients. The analyses were performed using the SPSS statistics package Version 11.0. Results: Our patients were in better health before the injury than the normal population for their age and sex. A loss of health in all the dimensions was seen after the incident, which partially recovered on discharge, but did not reach the previous health level nor that expected in the normal population. This recovery is statistically significant between traffic injuries and in assaults and in all dimensions, except the emotional role in both and in the physical role in assaults. Conclusions: The high participation and positive evaluation of the surveys corroborate the ease of use of this questionnaire. The obtaining of the functional impact of the after effects is an objective element in the assessment of body injuries.
