Abstract
The experience with replantation of amputated or devascularized parts of the upper extremity distal to the wrist was reviewed for 1976‐1980 and again in a similar way for 1986‐1989. Comparisons between the two groups were made to look for similarities and differences. Analysis of this experience may help treating physicians, patients, and third‐party payers to make decisions about management of these injuries.
