Abstract

A twin study was undertaken to test a hypothesis of simple autosomal inheritance relating to the ocular hypertensive response to topical corticosteroids. In the present analysis (Part 1), the shape of the observed frequency distributions of corticosteroid responsiveness among the test subjects was examined extensively for trimodal (three peak) configurations as expected on the basis of the hypothetical models which have been advanced. The observed distribution did not conform to the hypothetical models.
