Abstract
Deprived children, with parents who are not accessible to a treatment effort themselves, are often considered a poor therapeutic risk, and psychotherapy is typically not offered to them. This paper presents examples of successful therapeutic ventures and suggests hypotheses for the success of individual psychotherapy in such cases. 1967 American Orthopsychiatric Association
