Abstract
The act of sustaining a simultaneous traumatic spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury is often termed as dual diagnosis. Because of this, it is important for the spinal cord physician to understand complications which result from the traumatic brain injury and how it can affect a patient’s overall recovery. This chapter explains the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, treatment, and management of a patient with dual diagnosis. The chapter concludes with practice questions on this topic.
