title = "Toward an Emergent Consensus-International Perspectives on Neuroethics of Deep Brain Stimulation for Psychiatric Disorders-A Tower of Babel?",
author = "Schlaepfer, {Thomas E.}",
note = "Funding Information: interventions for psychiatric disorders. Towards this goal we established an interdisciplinary international group consisting of two neurosurgeons, a neurologist, a neuropsychologist, a psychiatrist, a neuroethicist, an expert in legal philosophy and a neurophilosopher. This group, funded by the German Volkswagen Foundation and administrated by an European Academy which is studying the consequences of scientific and technological advances for individuals and society (http://www.ea-aw.de) analyzes ethical issues arising from the application of Deep Brain Stimulation for Psychiatric Disorders. Questions such as critical issues around regulatory processes (Fins et al. 2011a) and ethical guidance for the management of conflicts of interest for researchers, engineers and clinicians engaged in the development of therapeutic deep brain stimulation (Fins et al. 2011b) have been comprehensively studied and the results published under common authorship.",
