The temporalis myofascial dynamic sling is a facial rehabilitative technique commonly used to reanimate the paralyzed face. The technique is especially useful after facial muscle atrophy has occurred or neurotization attempts have failed. The temporalis myofascial transfer can rehabilitate both the eye and the corner of the mouth and in contrast to static sling procedures can restore dynamic motor function. By applying the dynamic force of the myofascial pedicle generated by clenching the teeth the motivated patient can produce facial movement.
