Abstract
Perianal fistulas and abscesses are a significant cause of morbidity in patients with Crohn's disease. It is imperative to accurately diagnose fistulas and abscesses to ensure successful treatment and prevent further complications such as incontinence. Endosonography is an accurate and well-tolerated imaging modality for classifying anal fistulas. The use of hydrogen peroxide and 3-D ultrasound may enhance EUS in complex fistulas. EUS can be helpful in both monitoring fistula healing and guiding treatment in patients with Crohn's perianal fistulas.
