Abstract

Anywhere in the world, it is exceedingly rare to encounter a patient who has survived to adulthood with unoperated tetralogy of Fallot. Almost as rare is to see a patient with palliated tetralogy of Fallot who has undergone a series of systemic-to-pulmonary artery shunts without complete repair. In most cases, these patients tend to have had complex tetralogy with pulmonary atresia and major aortopulmonary collateral arteries deemed unsuitable for repair.
