Abstract

Management has been described as 'a practice rather than a science'. Therefore, teaching laboratory management to pathology residents should not be limited to didactics. To develop skill in the three generic management tasks of mission, productivity, and responsibility, residents must have practical experience. Here's how one university incorporates this experience into an elective framework.
