Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the potential role of inflammatory factors in the mechanism of cardiovascular toxicity of PM2.5. The cardiovascular endothelium cells were treated by PM2.5 collected from urban area of Shanghai, with doses of 0.01 mg/mL, 0.05 mg/mL and 0.2 mg/mL. The relative concentrations of IL-4 and extaxin mRNA were measured by the method of RT-PCR and compared by t-test. Results showed that the relative concentrations of IL-4 and extaxin mRNA in 0.05 mg/mL and 0.2 mg/mL groups were significantly higher than the control. This result meant that the I-type allergy related inflammatory factors such as IL-4 and extaxin might play an important role on the cardiovascular toxicity of PM2.5.
