Abstract

Despite several recent technical advancements, the management of pancreatic walled-off necrosis (WON) remains a challenge. The optimal approach has not yet been identified. However, in the last few decades, there has been a paradigm shift in the management of pancreatic WON. Endoscopic drainage is currently the treatment of choice for symptomatic WON. Endoscopic drainage provides high-precision drainage with few adverse events. To optimize effective outcomes, a multidisciplinary team approach is needed.
