Abstract

Injection of sickle cell hemoglobin C blood into rabbit anterior chambers resulted in lowering of aqueous humor pH and PO₂ and elevation of aqueous humor PCO₂. These effects appear to contribute to the sickling of erythrocytes that occurs in aqueous humor.
