Abstract
This article represents the proceedings of a symposium at the 2000 ISBRA Meeting in Yokohama, Japan. The chairs were Nobuhiro Sato and Kai O. Lindros. The presentations were (1) Sex differences in ethanol pharmacokinetics, by E. Baraona; (2) Estrogen regulates the sensitivity to endotoxin in hepatic Kupffer cells, by K. Ikejima; (3) Sex difference in alcohol-related organ injury, by E. Mezey; (4) Aggravated ethanol-induced liver injury in female rats: Protection by the antiestrogen toremifene, by Harri A.
