Abstract
Serum prostatic acid phosphatase and prostate specific antigen are potentially very useful clinical tools for the screening, diagnosis, staging and management of men with prostate cancer. However, optimal implementation of these tests requires a thorough understanding of their strengths and limitations in guiding management of patients with known, or suspected, prostate cancer.
