Abstract
An efficient second harmonic generation of polarization maintaining Yb-doped CW fiber laser using a periodically-poled lithium niobate (PPLN) was demonstrated. The output power of the second harmonic beam was plotted as a function of input fundamental power. Significant broadening of the laser spectrum beyond the phase-matching bandwidth saturated the second harmonic efficiency above the operating power level of 2.5 Watts.
