Abstract
Schizophrenia is a major psychiatric disorder afecting approximately 1% of the population. It has been identiied as one of the tenmost debilitating diseases (WorldHealthOrganization). Schizophrenia is characterized by positive, negative, disorganization, cognitive, psychomotor, and mood symptoms (Tandon et al., 2009). The severity of diferent symptoms varies between patients and through the course of the illness. Although the onset of the disease is in late adolescence or early adulthood, subtle motor, cognitive, and social abnormalities are present prior to the onset of the disease, with cognitive impairments persisting throughout the entire course of the illness (Insel, 2010).
