Abstract

Based on the olfactory neural system, Freeman has built a chaotic neural network-K set model. Comparing to the conventional artificial neural network (ANN), this model can simulate the chaotic signals existed in the real olfactory neural system, and it offers brand-new concepts and mechanisms in signal processing and pattern recognition as well. This article presents the simulation research on this model and its application on image pattern and handwriting numerals recognition. The results proved the recognition ability of this new method.
