Abstract
We have made observations on the collection of microfilariae from 4 dogs by continuous flow centrifugation for the collection of buffy coat cells; large quantities of viable microfilariae can be collected in small volumes from unanaesthetized animals in a short time. Transfusion to an uninfected recipient demonstrated their viability. This technique may be applicable to studies of the kinetics of parasitaemia in filariasis and other infections.
