RATE SENSITIVITY IN DYNAMIC ANTIPLANE SHEAR CRACK PROPAGATION.

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

The dynamic steady-state propagation of a Mode III crack in two different models of ductile rate-sensitive materials is evaluated by the use of the finite element method. The first material model is the standard viscoplastic overstress model, the second takes into account the delay in the decrease in yield stress under decreasing strain-rate.
