N2 - It is a distinct honor to address you as president of the American Head and Neck Society [AHNS]. Serving the Society as president is the highlight of my professional career as a head and neck surgeon, which I have wanted to be since medical school. I never imagined that I would have this leadership opportunity, and I greatly appreciate being able to serve the AHNS this year in this role. Many of you here today are my friends, teachers, mentors, and heroes. Thank you for your support, fellowship, and collegiality.
