Abstract
Ossification of Achilles tendon is an uncommon condition associated with trauma or surgery. It is more common in men and in the middle aged. The lesion is usually located just proximal to the insertion of the Achilles tendon and is normally asymptomatic. When it becomes painful, the recommended treatment is removal of the ossified tissue and repair of the Achilles tendon. A case is described.
