Abstract
The release of phosphate by endometrium in the presence of adenosinetriphosphate has been studied by homogenate and histochemical techniques in various phases of the menstrual cycle. Homogenate studies indicate that there is a cyclic variation of phosphate release which is greatest in the mid-progestational phase of the cycle. Histochemical studies at pH 9 demonstrate an intimate and reciprocal relation between phosphate release and glycogen deposition.
