Abstract
Many genetic syndromes produce early-onset spinal deformities due to disorders of structure and balance. Common themes in the management of all of these disorders include evaluation of the entire spine and awareness of the unique challenges of each syndrome in other systems. Bracing has a limited role in these syndromes. However, growth-friendly surgery may be successful in maintaining appropriate trunk growth and balance and allowing lung development in progressive curves.
