Abstract
An area of growing interest in precision medicine is the utilization of in vitro and in vivo models of diseases that are reliable and accurate representations. These model systems not only provide valuable insight into disease mechanism and pathophysiology, but also provide a platform with which to test and develop targeted therapeutic agents. The ability to tailor treatment for individual patients is truly reliant on the establishment of effective and efficient model systems. Thus, models that accurately recapitulate disease processes and reliably predict therapeutic efficacy are invaluable to moving the field of precision medicine forward.
