Abstract

• In-line coagulation using ACH successfully removes color. • The low dose of coagulant assists in stabilizing the TMP of the membrane system. • The results agree with the pilot scale data of Clackamas River water that the concentration of coagulant is critical to the membrane performance; e.g. membrane pretreated with low coagulant dose can sometimes perform better than the one with high dose.
