Abstract

A novel glass micro reactor and novel micro-macro fluidic connector made of teflon was designed, fabricated, and characterized. The fabricated device consisted of a vaporizer, heater, mixer, and reactor. The reactor was fabricated using 2 borosilicate glass wafers 4 inch in diameter and 1.75 mm thick, and the channels were machined by a spinning drill bit that was restored over the surface. The reactor and the connectors were tested for their ultimate pressure by pumping in water with the outlet closed, and the unit was able to withstand 240 psi.
