Abstract

Three patients are presented who had partial excision of benign cysts of the liver. It is suggested that large benign cysts of the liver should be surgically treated. It is further suggested that excision of the roof of the cyst, leaving its base attached to the liver is a simple and effective means of accomplishing this, provided the cyst does not contain gross bile.
