Abstract

To the Editor: In his article, “Neonatal Nonhemolytic Jaundice”(N Engl J Med 292:194–197, 1975), Dr. Johnson makes the statement that “there appears to be a high rate of cirrhosis in infants with neonatal hepatitis who have undergone exploratory laparotomy.” As evidence, he cites a now famous series of papers by Drs.
