MR angiography physics: An update

Advances in technology continue to enrich MR angiography. New techniques are being explored to address the primary goals of specificity and sensitivity in diagnosing vascular disease. To gain widespread acceptance, emerging techniques must demonstrate clinical efficacy and be robust and easy to use. Increasing the complexity of the examination does not necessarily increase the effectiveness of a technique. Development of improved MR angiographic techniques will ultimately converge to a "single-button" examination with high diagnostic accuracy and simplified operator-scanner interaction.
