Abstract

The mortality from gastric cancer in an Amsterdam cohort of 2633 patients who had been subjected to gastric surgery for benign lesions in the period 1931-1960 was compared with that among the general population of The Netherlands. This mortality showed a statistically significant increase in females from the 15th year and in males from the 25th year after the stomach operations.
