abstract = "A database of 4000 vibrations measurements from 1000 buildings was used to derive models for building period and damping. Herein, we focus on the dominant trends in the median and standard deviation of the damping with respect to basic building parameters such as height, material and frame type. We also outline the statistical techniques used to identify the most important building parameters and separate the sources of variability, while avoiding model over-fitting.",
