Middle Mediastinal Masses

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

This chapter will include most important anatomical landmarks and differential diagnosis of middle mediastinum across various imaging modalities. The key questions included are common questions asked during the rotation as well as questions that will help differentiate disease processes that may look very similar at an initial glance. Many of the questions will include high-yield differential diagnosis for common findings in imaging. The questions will include structures found in middle mediastinum, landmark borders that define middle mediastinum, differentials of “eggshell” calcified nodes, diagnosing tuberculosis, differentials of lymphadenopathy, imaging finding of mediastinal hemorrhage, characterizing aortic aneurysm, and more.
