Abstract
Malignant melanoma metastases to the pituitary area is described in two patients causing the presenting signs of a chiasmal syndrome. Diagnosis was confirmed by biopsy; subtotal removal of the tumor with decompression of the chiasm and optic nerves was followed by a dramatic visual improvement for the remainder of the patient's lives.
