N1 - Funding Information: In every sporting context that we explored, part of the video‐review infrastructure included multiple personnel who made it all work. These positions rarely exist, if at all, in most clinical settings. Two attending surgeons at our institution have independently spent a couple of hundred hours of their own time recording, storing, organizing, and editing their surgical videos. Other groups have utilized temporary support from grant or institutional sources to fund their own time and that of others to perform this work. More sustainable and scalable methods must be created if routine video review is going to exist in surgery. As one point of reference, a team at the University of Pittsburgh (USA) created a video library of all of their robotic surgical oncology cases starting in 2010, with an annual cost of less than $10 000 (USD). There will inevitably be a cost associated with having an institutional program for routine video review. Governing bodies in the United States, such as the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Board of Surgery are beginning to explore video review and coaching as part of skill assessment and improvement for practicing surgeons. As these requirements grow, economies of scale could emerge for hardware and personnel required to run such programs. Ultimately, we believe that improving surgeon training is worth the investment. 19 42 43
