note = "Funding Information: We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the winners of the 2004 AstraZeneca-sponsored Writing Competition for Residents and Fellows whose papers were published in UROLOGY. In 2004, we published 165 manuscripts that were identified as being first-authored by residents or fellows in Urology. Special thanks goes to Ralph Clayman, M.D., for once again selecting the ten best papers. The Section and Associate Editors all voted for the top three papers. A \$6000 award sponsored by AstraZeneca was divided among the top three award winners. First prize was awarded to Micha{\"e}l Peyromaure, M.D., for “Fate of Implanted Syngenic Muscle Precursor Cells in Striated Urethral Sphincter of Female Rats: Perspectives for Treatment of Urinary Incontinence” (Urology 64 : 1037–1041, 2004). Second prize was awarded to Herb Singh, M.D., for “Impact of Unilateral Interposition Sural Nerve Grafting on Recovery of Urinary Function After Radical Prostatectomy” (Urology 63 : 1122–1127, 2004). Third prize was awarded to J. Kellogg Parsons, M.D., for “Effect of Methylprednisolone on Return of Sexual Function After Nerve-Sparing Radical Retropubic Prostatectomy” (Urology 64 : 987–990, 2004). We urge residents/fellows to submit manuscripts for this contest. The Editorial Board joins me in congratulating these young investigators and in thanking AstraZeneca for their continued support of the Gold Journal. ",
