Abstract

Because LASIK and blepharoplasty both may cause dry eye symptoms, the possible cumulative effect of these surgeries is a serious consideration. The author discusses the physiological mechanisms in these procedures that can lead to dry eye and provides practical guidelines for evaluating patients.
