Calf thymus histones IIb1 and IIb2 interact to form a stable 1:1 complex with a molecular weight of 28,500 ± 800. The complex migrates as a single, sharp band in non-denaturing polyacrylamide gels and appears to result from a specific interaction rather than crude aggregation.
