Healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) and cleanliness are high on the public, patient and policy agenda. Over the past decade there have also been more policy drivers looking at the need for service user involvement in service delivery. This article discusses the benefits of an initiative to involve service users in infection prevention and control in a mental health trust.
