Abstract

In this paper, we present an Integrated Near-Surface Characterization (INSC) strategy, which is a highly-recommend paradigm shift away from conventional presentation-based quality-control (QC) towards building a Geographic Information System (GIS) for each onshore seismic data processing project. INSC provides a deep understanding of spatial behavior of all (previously unresolved) near-surface-related noise and data challenges, as well as an advanced QC procedure and decision-making process for all (surface-consistent) pre-migration and time-domain onshore seismic data processing steps.
