Abstract

Initiating a CO2 laser program in a hospital requires the expenditure of significant amounts of money and effort, and unless a well conceived plan is followed, the end result may become disorganized disaster. Planning should start with the identification of the specialties that will utilze the CO2 laser in the hospital and the formation of a laser committee which includes representatives of these specialities as well as nursing and hospital administration. A number of important issues which this committee will need to address are discussed.
