Abstract
In musculoskeletal joint systems, many treatment modalities depend on mechanical factors such as dimensions, geometry, forces, pressures, etc. Dynamic simulation using digital imaging graphic models appears to be a natural fit to our critical needs. If the Visual Interactive Computational Anatomical Modeling (VICAM) technology can play a role in future macrobiomechanical analyses of musculoskeletal joint systems, their proper scope and relevant areas of application must be carefully defined and scrutinized. This paper provides the current state-of-the-art development and potential utilization of this emerging technology through careful assessment and rational prioritization. Such development will certainly stimulate future research and job opportunities.
