title = "In vitro and in vivo tissue engineering using adult and embryonic stem cells",
abstract = "The minimally invasive cartilage tissue engineering system in an 'in vivo' subcutaneous injection model using adult and embryonic stem cells was analyzed. The ability of embryoid body-derived stem cells was also investigated to find out another potential stem cell source for tissue engineering. It was found that the adult bone-marrow derived stem cells expressed collagen II and aggrecan, although there was no staining for these proteins histologically. It was also found that the micromass culture of the human embryoid derived stem cells and growth factor exposure decreases expression of neural and vascular markers.",
