Abstract

An improved simulation system has been developed according to problems found in near field microwave detection for breast cancer. Advantages over the old system are: 1. polarization of the antennas now can be set or reset in the new system; 2. Liao's 2nd order absorbing boundary has been applied to simplify the boundary computation; 3. Para-view for the electric and magnetic fields is obtained. The imaging result with confocal algorithm demonstrates that data created by this simulation system are effective. It will be helpful for studying microwave imaging algorithms and building realistic system in the future.
