Legal interventions to prevent gun violence include legislation targeted at gun manufacturers, dealers, and buyers or litigation. The primary perceived legal obstacle is the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution; other constitutional provisions (real obstacles) may have greater impact in the courtroom.
