Abstract
Hemangiomas are very common in the skin and can occur virtually anywhere in the body. They are. however relatively rare in the temporal bone or subarachnoid spaces. They may be found in differing areas within the skull base and some of these locations adjacent to the temporal bone are described. We present some of our experiences with these lesions. The natural history, complications, and management strategies of these interesting growths are presented. The histologie variations and their clinical implications are also discussed. Some have familial genetic predisposition which influences treatment and systemic surveillance. Management algorithms for these special cases are elaborated.
