Abstract

Several aspects of the healthcare system have been postulated to impact patient care and outcomes, particularly among racial and ethnic minority groups (Smedley, Stith, & Nelson, 2003). These include, but are not limited to the organization, constitution and financing of the system as well as the ease of accessing services. Each of these factors will be discussed below.
